This blog has been dormant for a while, but you can still keep up with me and my books on Facebook:

Hope to see you there! πŸ˜€

Hi girls,

I hope you’re all enjoying Designer Genes!

I thought you might like to see a couple of fun articles I wrote for ieGirl — a Canadian ministry for Christian teen girls. Here are the links (which will open up PDF documents):

Never Been Kissed

Clearing the Clutter

Please keep in touch and let me know what you’re reading and learning and doing these days! πŸ˜€

With love,

Here are links to the old blog entries for the last chapters/weeks in Designer Genes (starting from where I left off the last time I posted). I had meant to do this last month so that you could follow along as you go through the book, so I apologize that it took me so long!

Chapter 44 (Oct.Β 28 – Nov. 4): Love Your NeighbourΒ and also this πŸ˜€

Chapter 45 (Nov.Β 5 – 11): Only One Earth

Chapter 46 (Nov. 12 – 18): Furry, Feathery Friends

Chapter 47 (Nov. 19 – 25): Good “Ad”vice

Chapter 48 (Nov. 26 – Dec. 2): Meaningful Music

Chapter 49 (Dec. 3 – 9): Watcha Watchin’?

Chapter 50 (Dec. 10 – 16): Food for Your Brain

Chapter 51 (Dec. 17 – 23): Online… or Out of Line?

Chapter 52 (Dec. 24 – 30): No Other Gods

That finishes up Designer Genes for the year! πŸ˜€ If you’re new to the book, no worries! Just look at the menu on the left with the months listed, choose the month you’re in and you’ll find the post that goes with the chapter you’re reading.

And if you’re lost or I’m not making sense, please let me know! You can e-mail me at I always write back. πŸ˜€

Before I sign off, let me wish you a very wonderful Christmas! I’d love it if you came back and shared about anything special that happens during your celebrations.

Lots of love,

Wow, I just realized it’s another Monday morning, which means it’s time to update this blog! It’s also Christmas-Eve-Day (or whatever you call December 24!), which means I have lots of last-minute things to do. Eeps! πŸ˜€

So, I’m going to try to get back here in a couple of days to write a little something on this week’s chapter in Designer Genes. If you’re home from school and were hoping to find something here, I promise I haven’t forgotten you!

While you’re waiting, you can…

  • Help your mom! I’m sure she’s got lots to do today.
  • Make paper snowflakes
  • Make up a song or poem that explains the true meaning of Christmas
  • Write a cheery letter to someone who may be feeling lonely or sad
  • Send me an e-mail and let me know what you think of Designer Genes so far! πŸ˜€

Okay, see you later! And…

Merry Christmas!

Now that people areΒ picking up copies of Designer Genes, I’m starting to get some feedback on it and the responses have been really positive so far… especially from the tween girls!

One girl told me: “So far it’s AWESOME! I LOVE IT!”

Another girl asked her mom to return her library book because she wanted to read Designer Genes instead! πŸ˜€

So… I have a request! If you’ve got a copy of Designer Genes and have started reading it, please take a few minutes to write a short review on one of the sites where DG is being sold, such as,,, etc. That will be such a big help! If you do write a review, please let me know so that I can thank you! πŸ˜€

Okay, see you really soon… Our adventure together begins in nine days!

P.S. If you’re not sure how to leave a comment, or don’t feel comfortable doing so, you can just send me an e-mail at designergenes @ annhovsepian . com (without the spaces, of course!)
